MATARROMERA, THE ORIGIN OF ESDOR

Nestled right in the heart of Ribera del Duero are the origins of Grupo Matarromera, today one of the most important winemaking companies both domestically and internationally.

Its founder, Carlos Moro, comes from a family with close ties to grapevines, which his forefathers cultivated with care and passion.

More than 500 hectares of its own terroir scattered among strategic places in the Duero valley are farmed and cared for with the best state-of-the-art technologies that give rise to the best grapes, rich in polyphenols.

THE TEMPRANILLO GRAPE

Rich, complex, hardy.. It is born and flourishes in limey soil with an extreme continental climate: very cold in the winter and very warm in the summer.

To defend itself from these climatic conditions, as well as from microorganisms and insects, it generates a variety of polyphenol compounds.

EMINOL®, NATURE AND SCIENCE

After several years of research, the RDI team of Grupo Matarromera managed to extract the peel and juice from the red Tempranillo grape, a natural polyphenol compound with antioxidant and protective properties.

Grape polyphenols help neutralize free radicals, which are one of the causes of prematurely aged skin. They also help the skin protect itself and recover from many of the consequences and damages it suffers from due to the external aggressions that besiege it daily (smog, wind, pollution, UVA radiation).

EMINOL® (Patent no.: ES 2 319 032 A1) is therefore a polyphenol extract whose main strength and uniqueness is the synergy among all the polyphenols present that are naturally expressed in the grape. The merger of all of them working together gives EMINOL® unique qualities.

THE GRAPEVINE, A NATURAL SOURCE OF BEAUTY

After extracting the Eminol®, we continue in our zeal to use the richness of our grapevines to get new natural ingredients to include in our formulas.

Thus, in 2012 we retrieved the seeds from our Verdejo grape (DO Rueda) to virtually handcraft our facial exfoliant.

We guarantee that all of our cosmetics contain at least 85% natural ingredients, many of them from ecological agriculture and from economically sustainable regions. ESDOR has profound respect for nature in all its forms, and this is why we are against animal testing. ESDOR’s corporate and economic headquarters is located in a sustainable building that guarantees the maximum use of the resources that nature offers us.

Our expertise in the winemaking world and our heavy investment in RDI were what allowed EMINOL® to be developed and applied and later incorporated into the world of beauty.

It became a point of departure for building a cosmetics laboratory and beauty brand that merges nature and science. A comprehensive team of professionals with degrees in technical areas like pharmacy, biochemistry, and biology internally spearheads the projects in which we research and develop our cosmetics, backed by some of the top external laboratories which are experts in the world of cosmetics. This has allowed us to develop premium cosmetics over the years.
